Borough Manager Quits

The Lewistown Borough Manager has quit! Kim Zimmerman resigned following a special council meeting that was held on Wednesday morning. Zimmerman’s decision, which came after an executive session, was approved in a 5-1 vote by council members. The council then appointed Somer Weiss as interim borough manager and announced plans to advertise the position with a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000. Council members emphasized that the change reflects a new direction for the borough, with some citing cost-cutting as a factor. At yesterday’s meeting, Lewistown Council also reorganized its leadership, naming Matt Moore as president and Robert Barlett as vice president.
