A lawsuit has been filed against a Pennsylvania amusement park by a man who alleges that he wasn’t told about the closing of the park’s roller coaster. Kennywood Park season ticket holder Joshua Miller of Westmoreland County, alleges that Kennywood withheld information regarding the closure of its Steel Curtain roller coaster for the 2024 season. Despite announcing the coaster’s closure last week for extensive modifications, the suit claims Kennywood enticed customers like Miller to purchase season passes under the assumption that the coaster would operate. The lawsuit cites violations of the state’s unfair trade practices and consumer protection law, seeking $100 per violation for affected pass holders. The Steel Curtain coaster, known for its 220-foot height and 75 mph speed, debuted at Kennywood in 2019.
