The Juniata County School District has released information in advance of the solar eclipse that is coming on the afternoon of April 8th. The timing of the eclipse coincides with the usual dismissal times, posing a potential safety risk as students may inadvertently view the eclipse without proper precautions while leaving school or riding the bus. Therefore, to ensure the safety of all students, schools will initiate an early dismissal and suspend all afterschool activities until 5:30pm. It’s being done to guarantee that all students will be safely home before the eclipse begins. All students will be dismissed on April 8th at 12:30pm.
