Some somber news this morning… the Burnham Bulldogs Special Needs football team mourns the loss of one of its veteran players and Hall of Famer, Eddie (better known as “Fast Eddie”) Renninger. Eddie, who started with the Bulldogs almost 20 years ago, was a quiet force on the field. Organizers say that as a running back and middle linebacker, he consistently gave 110 percent, never questioning his coaches’ instructions. They say his infectious laugh brightened the room, endearing him to teammates and fans alike. Eddie’s jersey number 33 will be retired, and he will be posthumously inducted into this year’s team Hall of Fame.
