Alligators are common in many southeastern states, but what happened to one alligator here in Pennsylvania would be considered a bit strange, even in Florida! An alligator was found inside a bin along the side of Route 441 in Dauphin County, near the entrance to the Red Hill Dam on the Susquehanna River. It was taken to an animal rescue facility, where the alligator was found to be in very poor condition. It’s estimated to be between 3-4 years old. Police along with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission are looking into what they say was a highly illegal act.
