A Pro Football Hall of Famer who was a Pennsylvania native is dead. Charley Trippi was a runner up for the Heisman Trophy. He went on to play various positions, and eventually led the Cardinals to the most recent NFL Championship… back in 1947. Trippi died Wednesday peacefully at his home in Athens, Georgia. He was 100 years old. Trippi was the son of a Pennsylvania coal miner, and is the only member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame to have 1,000 yards rushing, receiving and passing in his career.
