The Juniata County School Board is looking to fill two upcoming vacancies. Martha Jane Shirk is stepping down June 30 due to health reasons, and Troy Woodward won’t seek re-election this fall. Vice President Joseph Shearer also didn’t file to run and says he may launch a write-in campaign. Candidates must live in the regions being vacated, be at least 18, have no felony or moral crimes, and not work for the district. Interviews for Shirk’s replacement are set for June 11, with letters of interest due by June 6.
