The Juniata County Commissioners met on Tuesday, and took a double-header approach to safety and well-being. Juniata Commissioners declared May as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month, honoring the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education for their tireless advocacy. Meanwhile, mental health also took center stage with a second proclamation for Mental Health Awareness Month. Kathy Whalen from Juniata Valley Behavioral & Developmental Services rallied for support of events like the Family Fun Fair and a visit from the Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association recovery bus.
