Juniata Terrace Joins National Register of Historic Places

After officially being recognized as an historic district, now the Juniata Terrace will be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. That news came out of Harrisburg yesterday, after the unanimous approval by the the Pennsylvania Historical Preservation Review Board. Next up… the State Historic Preservation Office will send the state nomination to the National Park Service for federal historical recognition… a process that could take up to 45 days. Then, national officials will either post their determination on the National Park Service website, or… if they determine that the proper documentation was not submitted… they will send the nomination back, which will then necessitate a restart of the process of federal recognition from the beginning again.
