Perhaps A Local Federal Election Violation Committed

According to the Federal Election Commission, whoever the person is in Juniata County who filed to run for U.S. Senate under the name “Proud Republican” may have violated federal law. Someone with an address in Honey Grove formally filed… on January 19th… a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission as a Republican seeking to run for Senate. That person reportedly filed their Principal Campaign Committee to be “Election Twitter” with an Arkansas address. A quick check of Google Maps shows the address to be on a backroad, but that’s about it. The FEC however, says any candidate filing such a document must make sure that it is true, correct, and complete, and they must sign off to that certification. They say that “knowingly and willfully making any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation to a federal government agency, including the Federal Election Commission, is punishable” under law by up to five years in prison. So far though, no charges have been filed in connection with this particular case.
